I have been at International Needs since 2005. I turn my hand to wherever there is greatest need at the time which can be planning, financial analysis, keeping in touch with supporters, applying for grants or leading GoGlobal trips.
Before my retirement, most of my career has been in strategic planning, market research and product management. Although this is a very different environment, most of the skills I acquired there are useful here as well.
Passions
It has been thrilling to see the difference International Needs is making around the world and humbling to see the generosity of our supporters.
I have been able to visit many of our overseas projects. I have been to Nepal twice to see the Lydia Vocational Training Centre and trek in the Himalayas. In South Asia, I have been to Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka. I have also been with my wife to Zambia and Uganda, where we met the two children my wife sponsors. Most recently I visited Burkina Faso where I saw the great progress on the medical centre and taught in the IN school. All of these trips have been heart warming, an immense privilege and an opportunity I never dreamed of when I retired.
As you can imagine I love travelling and the outdoors life. I walk regularly with an extremely sociable local group and during the summer can often be found sailing off the South Coast.
