Making a difference through International Needs’ projects to those who are sick, trapped in poverty or enslaved needn't be taxing.

Payroll giving is the most tax-efficient way to support International Needs, meaning you can give more without paying more. If you are a higher-rate taxpayer, it is the ONLY way that we can automatically receive all the tax on your donation.

What is Payroll Giving?

Payroll Giving is a scheme that enables you to give straight from your gross salary (before tax is deducted), to receive immediate tax relief of up to £4 for every £10 donated.

Why give through your payroll?

Payroll Giving is easy and costs you less to give more. Payroll donations provide us with a regular, reliable income stream that enables us to plan and budget for the future.

What do you need to do?

Providing that your employer offers Payroll Giving, it could not be simpler.  You complete a form which is usually obtained from your Personnel or Payroll Department.  The form asks you to give the name(s) of the charity or charities you want to support (there is space for you to make more than one choice).

Your employer will forward your completed form to their Payroll Giving Agency (PGA) and deduct from your pre-tax salary the total amount you want to give.  Your donation is forwarded monthly to the PGA who then distribute the gift each month to the charity or charities of your choice.

What if your employer does not have a Payroll Giving Scheme?

If your employer does not already have a Payroll Giving scheme in place, why don’t you encourage them to set one up?   Payroll Giving is a great way for an employer to demonstrate commitment to the causes that their employees care about and is quick and easy to set-up and administer.

Suggest your HR department contact the Payroll Giving Centre for all the information thay will need by calling them on 0845 602 6786 or by visiting their website.
