The Big Challenge
We are asking people like you to take up the Challenge of raising £1,000 to support those who are trapped in poverty, living with disease, or being persecuted. You can do it however you like, whenever you like; either in one go or through a number of small steps. We invite you to use your creativity to take on this challenge.
From making chutney to trekking in Nepal; from holding a barbecue to holding your breath; there are at least 1,000 ways of raising £1,000 to meet the International Needs UK £1,000 Challenge. The cause is compelling. Imagine helping to relieve poverty, disease and persecution. The motivation can be the method, from taking a break to breaking a record; you can rise to the challenge by doing it your way.
Raising £1,000 can be easier than you think
You could host a coffee morning, lay on a champagne breakfast for friends, or even plan a ball in celebration of that special person or occasion. Plan an intimate dinner party, or have a group arrange a New Years Eve party, or clear an overgrown garden for a neighbour. Use your talents and skills to make people feel good.
Sport
Sport is a great way to raise £1,000 and help people around the world overcome disease. You don’t have to be a top class athlete to be a winner. Why not take part in a local fun-run or sky-dive from 10,000 ft. Learn to unicycle, abseil down a building, or run up and down the stairs of the tallest building you can find as many times as you can and enlist a group of friends to join you. Challenge yourself to beat your previous record; it’s for a very good cause.
Make a noise!
From a sponsored silence to making a noise, the £1,000 challenge can be great fun! From a quiz night for friends to running the London Marathon, the opportunities are almost limitless. You could get sponsored to lose weight or gain confidence by breaking a habit or overcoming your fears. You will feel the benefit and many people around the world will be helped.
Adventure
If you have a taste for adventure, you could trek in Nepal, cycle from London to Paris, or drive from London to Dhaka. Whether you decide to walk the length of Britain or organise a pram race, it will be an unforgettable experience and one that International Needs will always be grateful to you for.
