School for orphans in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is one of the world's poorest nations, suffering from gross over-population and periodic natural disasters such as devastating floods during monsoon season and cyclones usually accompanied by enormous loss of life. There seems little hope that the poverty will ever be substantially alleviated.

Home for orphans

The Bethany Children’s Village in Bangladesh provides a safe, loving and Christian home for orphaned and destitute boys from the ages of 4 – 16 years. Wherever possible we adopt the orphaned children to ensure their rights are protected. They receive a quality Christian education through our Child Sponsorship Programme so that they become self-supporting either through academic achievement or through vocational training. Girls have their home at our Children’s Village in Savar.

Doubling capacity

Now we want to double the size of the Bethany Village to give an extra 100 destitute boys a caring home, a quality education and vocational training. International Needs is part way through building a three storey extension to provide classrooms, dormitories and bathrooms, but more funds are needed to complete the project.
